Achieving Big Things in Esports

Achieving Big Things in Esports

Everyone wants to get known, we get it. It’s about the glory, always has been. The dream of winning it big on the final stage. Of conquering your fears and truly being able to rise to the top in your game. Today we’re going to be climbing some mountains. We’re going to gamer hyperspace where legends are made and myths are born. I want to talk about the stuff that counts if you are going to have a chance. Exactly how you go about winning is up to you. Listen carefully though because there might be one or two things to pick up from this gaming tragic and industry leader.

Be an individual but give back to your team. The first thing you are going to need if you want to be a professional gamer is a brand. A personal brand that is professional and approachable. You want to create gamer profiles in all the main communities relating to your game and the area you are playing in. Get active and participate and form good relationships with great players. Build your reputation by participating in events, try and start your own team or join one with a strong leader. You need to have a good foundation if you are going to make it to the very top. This means good connections, people who can move and shake for you. It’s best if you stay genuine and look professional in display pictures and how you act with other representatives of the team is important. Think about getting a manager on LinkedIn and reach out for help.

Once you are in a good team or competing at a good level, it’s time to start getting more serious about the game and pushing for the success of your team by being super active, positive and responsive to other players. Treat other players like you would like to be treated and pull yourself up if you say something silly in game or in tournament. You need to run the team like a business because at the end of the day it’s going to be sponsors and streaming that makes up the majority of your income through the tough years, but if you dig down deep and believe in yourself, this is where you can start making a name for yourself and, employing your connections with your professionalism, you will be able to build the support structures you need to make those big deals and make big accomplishments.

Once you get a few achievements under your belt, it’s time to stand in front of the mirror for a while and decide if you are going to use your accomplishments as a platform to greater things, or if you are going to be happy with your current level. After all it’s going to be entirely up to you if you succeed or not. Do some soul searching and think about where you have come from and about where you want to go. Envisage your pathway to success and make careful plans about how you are going to get there. Take notes and screenshots, video recordings and team content and create your own website using software like esportsify and promote your brand online. Always strive for more and be pleased if you see any small improvements.

Make a big deal out of your success and share it on social media. Create a story behind your brand and form good business relationships to be able to have an impact in a sector or multiple sectors. By now you should have built up a good name for yourself and already have made some good accomplishments. Nothing is ever good enough and you are finally ready to make your name on the big stage, you have won entry into a major tournament and your career is heating up. You are going to have to face your hardest challenge yet but your preparation and mental conditioning, combined with physical exercise and research has you with the advantage going into the finals. Will you be able to look within yourself to find that champion which you know is inside? Will this be the universe where your dreams are realised in front of thousands of people? It isn’t even about the money anymore and you are daring to believe and your connections and fan base also believe in you…

You step onto the final stage. Your heart is in your mouth. Now is the time to take what you deserve and defeat your inner demons. Now is the time when you need to play your heart out and stick to what you know works. You know you are good enough. It’s going to be about execution and delivery. It’s going to be about taking control and dictating the play, standing out like you always have, but now you can stand out on the big stage, where it really counts, where you can define your role as a player and as an individual.

Good luck gamers!
